How to reach Cantabaco
Cantabaco is located at the southern part of the Cebu island located in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It is a small barangay that belongs to the city of Toledo and home to the most developed cliff in the country.
Our recommended transport is via a van-for-hire:
Head to the South Bus Terminal, N. Bacalso St Cebu City and take a van bound for Toledo. This ride takes approximately 1-1.5 hours.
Get off at:
- Silangan Chapel – You’ll be able to see the crag on the left side of the road just before reaching this small chapel.
- Springpark Resort – This resort is also near the crag and offers accommodation options.
From there, the crag is only a short walk.
Alternative mode: You can also take a bus from Cebu City (South Bus Terminal) to Lutopan and then hire a motorbike to Silangan.
The travel time should be around 2 hours.
Accommodations
Ate Yolly/Ate Glenda’s Guesthouse
This is a popular option for local climbers due to its proximity to the crag. It’s located at the back of Silangan Chapel and a basketball court.
The rooms are basic with electric fans and shared or private bathrooms. They also offer an air-conditioned room with a private bathroom for those seeking more comfort.
Rate starts at 200 Php per night for a room good for 2-4 people.

Springpark Mountain Resort
Another option, although with a slightly longer walk to the crag, is this resort. Their rooms have been improved and starts at 2,000 per room per night (prices may vary depending on the room type and season).
The resort also boasts a pool, a restaurant, and a nearby coffee shop for added convenience.

Where to Eat
Local Eats. There are a lot of carinderias (local food stalls) available around the area, offering delicious and affordable meals.
Cooking In. If you prefer to cook your own meals, the guesthouses typically have a shared kitchen where you can prepare food. You can buy ingredients at nearby stores or at Lutopan town center.
Lutopan. For more variety, you can head to down town Lutopan, located approximately 3 km by motorcycle or car. There you’ll find a wider selection of restaurants and eateries.
Grocery and Other Needs
Lutopan town has more options for your various needs. You can find groceries, clothing, and a wet market there.
For your cash needs, there are 2 ATM machines available in Lutopan town: one at the front of Carmen Copper Corp and the other inside the 7-Eleven store.
